Name:

Pedro Cecilio Corrales Rodríguez

Academic Area:

Entrepreneurship

How and when did you get to IE?

In the year 1993, I entered the IE to do the MBA, on having finished it, obtained an “accesit” to the best project of Entrepreneurship and they offered me to still have me as Tutor of Entrepreneurship. Since then, I have been linked to the IE in many of his activities. Nowadays I realize labors so much as tutor, as teacher in the Enterpreneurship and In Company’s area for projects of the Banco Santander and Ferrovial.

What sport do you practice?

Paddel, I love it.

What is your favorite book?

I have many, but for mentioning one of the house: “Inteligencia Política” of the teacher Pascual Montañés.

Where were you born?

Segovia, Spain.

What is your favorite dish?

Fried eggs and grilled shrimps .

A memorable moment:

When I was awarded with the Accesit to the best Project. All my family was there and it did more illusion to me for them.

What does it mean for you to be a good professor?

It is very difficult to be a teacher and more in the IE. The level of exigency that we mark is very high and any mistake is paid very expensivly. For my, a good teacher must unite many qualities and be able to use them at the right time: to comunicate, to motivate, to lead, to teach …

I am more in the line Socrática and I am charmed with seeing how my pupils find the correct response.

How do you keep up-to-date?

Thanks to IE, social networks and the projects I lead.

What is your secret for your classes or presentations?

There is no secret, you cannot leave anything without planning. The improvisation can be the worst of your allies.

A ritual before teaching:

Drink a coffee.

A story in the classroom

Once a few pupils of the EXMBA on the first day of class said to me that they were doing the project for fulfilling the process … Can you imagine what happened later! They ended up by staying between 5 better projects of the IE and creating the company.

What is your favorite quote or motto of life?

To transmit Illusion to generate passion.

What has been your worst experience in the classroom?

When the pupils lose the interest, I spend it fatally. So I do everything possible because it does not happen.
