David Sastre is Chief Strategy Officer at SEUR. David has a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering and Business Administration at the University Carlos III. He also holds a MBA at IE Business School of Madrid.
He has developed his professional career linked to the field of business consulting companies (AT Kearney or PwC), highlighting his experience in the Strategy Design and Implementation, Operations Improvement, Process and Organizational Redesign.
David joined SEUR in 2010 and he has managed the areas of Strategic Planning, Corporate Social Responsibility, Network Management Information, Internal Organization, Purchasing and Marketing.
She obtained her PhD in Economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2014. In September 2014 she will start working as an economist of the Bank of Spain in the Department of Economic Analysis and Forecasting in the Research Department. Her research interests are in international economics and macroeconomics. In particular, she has studied financial innovation in advanced economies’ sovereign debt and the relationships between banking crises and public bonds.
Moreover, she obtained her Licenciatura in Law in 2006 from Universidad Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona and has done internships in the Barcelona office of the Law firm Uría Menéndez. She also has teaching and research experience from MIT, Universidad Austral de Chile and Universidad Pompeu Fabra.
Raffaele Breschi is an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company. Now based in Dubai, Raffaele has 6 years of consulting experience with McKinsey, on a number of international clients in Western and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Raffaele joined McKinsey in 2008, right after completing his Master Degree in International Management at Bocconi University in Milan. After finalizing the Business Analyst program, he received his MBA from IE Business School. Raffaele returned to McKinsey in 2011 as Associate Consultant and soon after took on management position as Engagement Manager.
His experience varies across different industries, with particular focus on business-to-consumer (B2C) and retail sectors.
Dr. Roland A. Pfister is a management trainer and business consultant and holds a PhD degree in business and marketing from the University of St.Gallen. After finishing his master’s thesis on human resources management, he worked for two years as an IT consultant in the field of core banking applications for Accenture, a major consulting company, and another three years as a senior business analyst for the Credit Suisse Group. Afterwards he returned to university and started doing research on visualization. In his research, he examined the impact of quantitative and annotative visualization on communication in management processes.
In addition he coaches management teams in companies and is a lecturer at the University of St.Gallen, the University of Applied Sciences in Zurich and the IE Business School in Madrid.
Alexandra Rengel obtained her Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts with a major in Political Science, and her Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Boston University, Massachusetts. She holds a Masters of law (LL.M.), as well as Doctorate of the Science of Law (J.S.D.) from Saint Thomas University School of Law in Miami, having obtained the highest honors, Summa Cum Laude in her thesis defense. Ms. Rengel has been practicing law in the United States since 1999 as a partner in the law firm of Mercado & Rengel. Ms. Rengel is a member of the Bars of Florida and Massachusetts, and is also a member of the Illustrious College of Attorneys of Madrid, Spain. Ms. Rengel currently works in her law practice and also teaches at Comillas Pontifical University – ICADE in Madrid, at Suffolk University (Madrid Campus) and at Schiller International University in Madrid. She is the author of Privacy in the 21st Century (Martinus Nijhoff Publishers, 2013).
Daniel Lacalle is an Economist and financial analyst (CIIA title), with a post graduate degree in IESE and a master’s degree in economic investigation (UCV).
Mr Lacalle has more than 24 years of experience in the energy and finance sectors, including experience in North Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.
Mr Lacalle is currently a fund manager overseeing equities, bonds and commodities. He was voted Top 3 Generalist and Number 1 Pan-European Buyside Individual in Oil & Gas in Thomson Reuters’ Extel Survey in 2011, the leading survey among companies and financial institutions.
Author of two best-selling books “Nosotros los Mercados” and “Viaje a la Libertad Economica” (Deusto), as well as forthcoming English books titled “Life In The Financial Markets (Wiley, 2014) and The Energy World Is Flat (Wiley, 2014) and regular collaborator with CNBC, El Confidencial, El Mundo, The Commentator, and The Wall Street Journal.
C. Jeffrey Char is a serial entrepreneur with a focus on social and technology ventures. He is CEO at J-Seed Ventures, a Tokyo-based venture incubator and also Chief Mentor at Venture Generation. Originally from Hawaii, Jeff has been a long-term resident of Japan. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Jeff worked as an attorney and investment banker. He’s a Berkeley and Harvard Law School alumnus.
Fabio Pisi Vitagliano holds a M. Sc. in Engineering with a concentration in Energy from University of Roma Tre and obtained his International MBA at the IE Business School, one of the top ranked programs in the world according to Financial Times standings.
He has developed a wide international business experience spanning across Negotiation, Coaching, Leadership, Program Management, Business Development and Corporate Finance. His professional background includes experiences as a Trainer, Business Developer, Demand Manager and Strategy Consultant at leading companies in the consulting, education, finance and telecommunications industries.
In his current role as Professor at the European School of Economics, he lectures in the areas of Human Resource, Management, Organization, Leadership and Communication for both undergraduate and MBA programs.
In addition to academic experiences, Fabio has developed his training skills in business environments applying various techniques according to different training requirements. He has been responsible for delivering several editions of courses in Managing People, Leadership, Communication, Effective Presentation, Business Analysis, Effective Meetings to young and experienced professionals from European, African, North and South American companies.
Fabio also provides management consulting services; he has developed this expertise having worked for 10 years for Accenture serving clients operating in industries ranging from finance to telecommunications, renewable energies and public administration. He is currently involved in the Valle Piola Rebirth Team project which is aimed at the revitalization of an abandoned medieval village in Central Italy.
Furthermore, having served in various client management and business development positions, Fabio has identified, developed and assumed operational responsibility for several projects. Specifically, Fabio co-founded the ALB Foundation, a non-profit organization offering fellowships to African citizens for completion of International MBA programs.
Having worked and studied abroad, Fabio is fluent in Italian, English, Spanish and French.
José Luis Herrero

Jose Luis Herrero has an extensive experience as a practitioner in international organizations in political and civil affairs, conflict management, democratic institutions building and human rights. He served as Ambassador and Head of Mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, assisting the local government and political and civil society structures in the implementation of the Ohrid Peace Agreement; and in Azerbaijan promoting the OSCE Principles and Commitments. Previously, he worked in the United Nations in Kosovo, where he contributed to the design, negotiation and implementation of the Provisional Institutions for Self-Government, and in Geneva, Rwanda, Haiti and South Africa.
José Luis Herrero was Director of the Spanish think tank FRIDE. He is a Visiting Professor at the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas and the Instituto de Empresa. He has co-authored a number of publications and studies on peace operations and post-conflict development, and writes regularly opinion pieces on international affairs. He is fluent in English, French and Spanish, and learns Mandarin.
Francisco Seijo is a professor, researcher and consultant in environmental politics. His fields of expertise include climate change, forest policy, fire ecology and coupled human and natural systems theory and modeling. His work has appeared in leading scientific journals such as Environmental Politics, the Journal of Environmental Policy and Planning, Human Ecology Review, BioScience and Frontiers in Ecology and the Environment among others. More recently he has also co-edited a book with the europarliamentarian Florent Marcellesi for Editorial Icaria entitled “¿Que Europa queremos?” on recent developments in European politics. Dr. Seijo has also collaborated with various Spanish and international governmental and non-governmental organizations as a development consultant. He has also participated actively in the ongoing environmental and forest policy debate in Spain through opinion pieces in El Correo, Publico and Cadena SER.
